ISA Education Foundation Inc.The ISA Education Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote the advancement of education related to personal property appraising, to provide instruction and training of individuals for improving their appraisal skills, and to provide instruction to the public on personal property appraising and related subjects. Governed by a six-member board of directors, the Foundation is a separate corporate entity from its parent organization, the International Society of Appraisers. The Foundation was established in 2002. Currently the ISA Education Foundation has two primary annual activities; the issuance of scholarships for individuals interested in personal property appraising and the staging of the Annual Fun’d Auction as a funding source for the awarded scholarships. These scholarships are available in three separate categories: to students in a liberal arts program at a university, college, junior, or community college; appraisers with less than two years experience; and experienced appraisers (those with more than two years experience). This year’s scholarships consist of at least six awards of $750, two in each category. Monies can be applied to educational courses related to personal property appraising. To be eligible one must demonstrate financial need and fill out an application form. One need not be a member of a professional appraisal organization.
