ISA Welcomes AAA and ASA Members

ISA is pleased to welcome members of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and personal property members of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) to join ISA.

To get started, please find your current member level and associated requirements.

For Accredited members of AAA and Candidate or Accredited members of ASA.

Accredited members of AAA and Candidate or Accredited members of ASA-personal property appraisers may bridge to the ISA at the Accredited level (ISA AM) by completing the following steps:

  1. Complete the ISA membership application, including references, the application fee and the annual membership dues.

  2. At the time of application, the following uploads will be required:
    1. Proof of current and good standing membership status with either an accreditation in Appraisers Association of America (AAA) or with candidacy or an accreditation in the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
    2. Proof of USPAP 15-hour/7-hour compliance and remain current in USPAP.
    3. Proof of 55 hours of methodology coursework OR take and successfully pass ISA’s Core Course.
    4. Proof of 55 hours of specialty coursework OR successfully complete ISA’s Fine Art OR Antiques, Furnishings + Decorative Arts Course OR the pathway through Specialty and Advanced Studies.
    5. Proof of three years of market-related non-appraisal experience.
    6. Proof of 700 hours of appraisal experience.

  3. Once your initial application has been approved, you will receive notification. You will then be given instructions for the submission of an appraisal report to be written under the ISA report writing standards. This report will be submitted to peer review by selected readers through Specialty and Advanced Appraisal Studies. Upon successful completion, your ISA AM will be awarded.
  4. If you are approved as an ISA member, you will be required to abide by all ISA Membership requirements and requalification procedures.

For Certified members of AAA and Senior Accredited members of ASA-personal property appraisers.

Certified members of AAA and Senior Accredited members of ASA-personal property appraisers may bridge to the ISA at the Accredited level (ISA AM) by completing the following steps:

  1. Complete the ISA membership application, including references, pay the application fee and the annual membership dues.
  2. At the time of application, the following uploads will be required:
    1. Proof of current and good standing membership status with either a Certified AAA designation from the Appraisers Association of America or a Senior Accredited ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers.
    2. Proof of USPAP 15-hour/7-hour compliance and remain current in USPAP.
    3. Resume
  3. If you are approved as an ISA member, you will be required to abide by all ISA Membership requirements and requalification procedures.

If you wish to become a Certified ISA CAPP member, you must fulfill the established requirements to advance from ISA AM to CAPP.
