The Fees for appraisals are determined by the number of hours involved plus any necessary travel expenses, and are negotiated based upon the individual needs of each client.
With 21 years in the Arts & Higher Education, she is known for academic painting & an alternative teaching style; specializing in Grisaille Portraiture in Ink, Watercolor, Wood Panel, Tattoo Art, Renaissance Art, & Horror Art.
Elaina studied vocational Art & Studio Management at the Long Island High School for the Arts, New York — graduating with Regents Honors, prior to attending the School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, & N.C.C. Art as a student & faculty member.
After a 2015 car accident, she returned to an academia at the University of New Orleans, graduating Magna Cum Laude - University Honors, serving as the Art Department Teaching Assistant on a COVID restricted campus.
As an Artist & Gallery Assistant, she has worked for artists such as Leonard Meiselman, Tim Kent & apprenticed under former Met Museum librarian Claudia Cage, before moving into to a short term in Social Media Management at Network Design & Communications on the Bowery of lower Manhattan, New York. In New Orleans, she worked as a framing manager for local artists as well as a portrait assistant for the well renowned artist Shakor of Gallery Cayenne in the historic French Quarter.
Art Apothecary Appraisals provides comprehensive personal property valuation services to clients in all private and public sectors and has experience managing both simple and complex assignments.
Every appraisal report prepared by Elaina results in the delivery of a professional document with value conclusions that are in conformity with the Internal Revenue Service (where applicable), the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice” (USPAP), and the International Society of Appraisers (ISA).
Elaina is also a Body Arts Professional starting in 2006 as a Studio Manager & Piercer for Addiction INK & Addiction NYC in the historic Lower East Side of Manhattan. She also worked as a Tattoo Assistant for Eddy Ospina and Kevin Q at Fat Cat NYC in Astoria Queens in 2009, having spent a total of 10,000 working hours in NYC shops & private studios over the course of 4 years. With a degree in Renaissance Art & Art History, as a retired studio manager, assistant, model, photographer, & media marketer, she uses her unique skill set to keep her shops running smoothly.
