About
Agnès is a Los Angeles-based researcher and a nineteenth-century French paintings and prints, art market and provenance specialist. Agnès received her PhD from the Université Paris Sorbonne in 2012. Her book, which focuses on the history of the nineteenth-century print dealer and art gallery La Maison Goupil, was published in 2017. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Getty Predoctoral Fellowship, as well as a Senior Fellowship at the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Art Reference Library, where she conducted research on the legacy of Goupil and Knoedler in America at the turn of the 20th century. This research has since been published in 19th Century Art Worldwide (‘’The Perils and Perks of Trading Art Overseas: Goupil’s New York Branch,’’ 2017). She is currently writing a book on the History of Art Galleries in France.
