About

Ryan Haney is a fine art appraiser and the founder of Haney Appraisals in Fine Art, LLC (HAFA). Based in Kansas City, he graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute where he earned his degree in Art History, Sculpture, and Social Practice. While there, he was also a Ford Foundation Scholar, a Yale Norfolk Nominee, and an annual member of the President's List for academic achievement. 

Ryan has served as the head researcher for KCAI Ray Beagle Chair Michele Fricke's Color Archive, a cross-cultural resource for students studying art history, and has also assisted gallery operations at the H&R Block Artspace in Kansas City. His own art historical research has been presented at symposiums held at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art. Due to his background, Ryan has a multifaceted approach to evaluating fine art. He has years of experience in professional appraisal work, having assisted in projects for both public and private collections. Through his practice, Ryan is committed to providing optimal results through precise, unbiased, and thoughtful service.

Ryan’s expertise covers a variety of materials and processes, including printmaking and photography, sculptures that range from ceramic to cast bronze, and paintings that illustrate oil, acrylic, and watercolor techniques. With this knowledge, he is capable of catering to an array of intended uses, such as estate planning and evaluation, charitable donation, insurance, divorce, and business dissolution.

As a Member of the International Society of Appraisers, Ryan diligently follows the ISA Code of Ethics and adheres to The Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP). Due to his experience and his credentials, Ryan also meets the standards of a "Qualified Appraiser," as defined by the IRS.
