APPRAISER’S STATEMENT

Lorena O. Allen, whether in the capacity of consultant, researcher or authentication facilitator, has provided appraisal services for over 25 years throughout the state of Florida and US.  Clients include collectors,  museums,  corporations, attorneys, estate planners, insurance companies.  She has achieved status of Certified Member of both International Society of Appraisers and Appraisers Association of America,  with specializations including American &  European Art- 17^th-Century  to Post WWII-Contemporary art; areas of expertise also include:  Asian Art, Decorative Arts & Residential Contents. Lorena has held national positions with ISA including Fine Art Chair for two terms. Regional positions include President of ISA Chapters including the Miami and Central Florida Chapters.

Education:  M.Ed. University of Florida with a Master’s  thesis “Chinese Art From Ming to the Cultural Revolution”; BFA – Studio of Painting; BA Humanties.                                                                                                                                            Speaker/Lecturer:  The Asia Society, Antique Clubs, Museums, Professional Groups and Organizations 

Publications: Featured in articles on the connoisseurship of appraising  in  Orlando Sentinel &  Miami Herald;  Regular contributor for Antiques & Art Around Florida with most recent articles Winter Ed.2016: “Tiffany Favrile Glass, A Renaissance in Glassmaking"   and  Winter 2019 "Brutalist Art and Architecture".

USPAP: Successfully completed  course and examination, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Compliant through October 13, 2025.

Professional Memberships: DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) Winter Park, Florida;  AAA (Appraisers Association of America, New York);  Women in American Art, Washington, D.C., University Club, WInter Park, Fl.  Asia Society, Winter Park, Florida. 

Broker Services:  Acts as a Liaison for Clients who want to consign to auction in the highest and most appropriate venues.
