Credentialing and Requalification Appeals

CREDENTIALING AND REQUALIFICATION APPEALS

Effective April 28, 2024

Appeals may be requested should a member be subjected to any consequences as outlined in the Membership Levels and Progression or Continuing Education policies.

The ISA Board of Directors will appoint an Appeals Board within 10 days of the notification of the appeal. Notifications must be in writing and submitted to the ISA Executive Director. The appointed Appeals Board will hear arguments from both sides. Appeals Board members will each have one vote. The majority will rule. The Appeals Board will render collective decisions: "Appeal granted" or "Appeal denied." The Appeals Board will communicate the decision in writing to the appellant and the previous determining body, giving the rationale behind their conclusion. Decisions of the Appeals Board will be final and remain on file indefinitely.

The Appeals Board may comprise not more than five (5) qualified representatives from the appropriate ISA specialty division within ISA, designated representatives from the ISA Appraisal Studies committee, and/or outside stakeholders or experts when deemed appropriate. ISA members serving on the Appeals board must be Certified or have been Accredited Members for at least three (3) years. Consensus by the ISA Board of Directors that someone should not be seated on the Appeals Board will effectively remove that individual from consideration.

ISA reserves the right to change or enact any policy without notice. Any additions or changes to ISA policy will be effective immediately.

ISA reserves the right to make exceptions to policy on an individual basis.
